Thank you to the 30,000 visitors who have journeyed with us through "La Maison de la Lune Brûlée", an exhibition of artist Lee Bae at the Wilmotte Foundation, a Collateral Event of the 60th Venice Biennale. Your presence has transformed this exhibition into a powerful testament of shared humanity beyond our deepest expectations.

The exhibition explored Lee Bae's deep connection with Daljip Teugi, a century-old ritual synchronized with cyclical cosmology, intertwining folklore with contemporary art. It delves into humanity's intrinsic connection with nature, advocating for a return to renewal and circularity.

Preceding the Biennale, we collected messages worldwide, transcribing them onto hanji paper, a traditional Korean medium. These messages, embodying wishes for the new year, became integral to the Moonhouse Burning ritual held on February 24th 2024 in Cheong-do during the inaugural full moon.

Join Our Closing Ritual: The Moonhouse Burning Ceremony 2025

As we near the conclusion of our transformative exhibition, we invite you to participate in a final, collective moment of renewal. Inspired by the traditional Korean Moonhouse Burning ritual (daljip taeugi), we will host a second ceremonial burning of wishes in Cheongdo, South Korea, on occasion of the first rising full moon in February 2025.

Your hope, dream, or aspiration can become part of this profound collective experience. We invite you to reflect on your deepest wishes for the coming year, and submit your message through our online application form. Your wish will be transcribed onto traditional Korean hanji paper and ceremonially burned.
